My Fine Yarn was slated to appear at the Woodlands Quilt Guild show at the Lonestar Convention Center in Conroe, TX June 19 & 20. The Guild is a fantastic group of creative and energetic folks who have the most wonderful show coming together. Through no fault of theirs, I pulled out of setting up at the show. The Lonestar center was built with loading and unloading as an after thought. It is narrow, inaccessible and compounded by a large shipping container blocking a good portion of curbside access to the back of the building. The Guild thought through the times for vendors to schedule their load in to help with that congestion, but they could not punch holes in the building to allow carts and dollies to come in from the parking area. I would have had my trailer parking 100 yards from my booth with a difficult and congested path to haul through. At an average of 10 trips or so, my gear, my inventory and my energy would have taken a hard hit. The Guild offered load in help, but the load out in a period of three hours at the end of the show would have been even worse. I am so very sorry to not be there but I hope all of you support their efforts and know that they did their very best to remedy the situation they were handed.
